The BCCI sent a message attacking Gautam Gambhir, a legend whose name was suggested as the test coach.
Gautam Gambhir, a legend whose name was proposed as the test coach, was attacked in a telegram issued by the BCCI.

Since Gautam Gambhir took over as head coach of the Indian cricket team, the team has lost an ODI series in Sri Lanka and been thoroughly defeated by New Zealand in a Test series at home.
Do the members of the Indian cricket squad take Gautam Gambhir seriously? As Team India copes with the fallout from Australia's 3-1 thumping in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, former England spinner Monty Panesar has posed a crucial query. The Indian cricket team has lost an ODI series in Sri Lanka and been thoroughly thrashed by New Zealand in a Test series at home since Gautam Gambhir took over as head coach.
Panesar appreciated the prospect of India experimenting with a different format-separate coach approach. "I believe so. With 167 Test wickets and 24 ODI wickets, Panesar said Timesofindia.com, "I think that's a good option."
"I believe Gambhir may be overburdened by the workload...He recently made
the switch to coaching. Some of the experienced players may find it challenging
at times because they will be thinking, "Well, I was his teammate a few
years ago, and now he's telling us how to play cricket." That change can
be challenging, and his hitting record isn't great either. "Great in England or
Australia," the former left-arm spinner remarked.
"In Australia, Gambhir averages 23. In England, he also performs poorly on
average. Panesar remarked, "He didn't play the moving ball very
well."
It won't be a bad idea to bring in VVS Laxman, the former left arm spinner
continued.
"I believe the selectors would be considering if Gambhir is serious about
his role as a coach or if he should concentrate only on ODIs and T20Is and
perhaps bring in someone like VVS Laxman, for instance, to coach the Test
team....Or get him to assist Gambhir as a batting instructor. He reminds me of
Rahul Dravid. In every situation, he has achieved success.
"I think you need some sort of Indian legend, who has
done really well in all conditions, to come in as a coach, because then you
naturally command that respect," Panesar said.

The 50-Test and 26-ODI veteran made a suggestion that everyone may take Laxman
more seriously.
"You do pay attention when Laxman says, 'You will not play the ball on the
up when it is swinging.' Right? "I'm not sure if they actually take
Gambhir seriously, or if they're just saying, 'okay, yeah, we'll listen to him,
but we're going to go and play our natural game,'" Panesar remarked.
